I'm David Cole — a backend engineer and DevOps practitioner from Freetown, Sierra Leone. I architect APIs, own cloud infrastructure, and ship production software that runs reliably at scale.
I specialize in backend architecture and cloud infrastructure — the work that keeps systems running at 3am. From designing apis and owning schemas, to Dockerizing workloads, configuring CI/CD pipelines, setting up infrastructure observability with tools such as New Relic, Prometheus, Grafana and Datadog, and wiring up real-time systems with WebSockets. I think in systems: queues, caches, failover, health checks, and distributed tracing. If it touches the server, I'm comfortable owning it.
A full-featured e-learning platform where students take courses and earn certificates, instructors design and publish content, and admins audit and approve the course catalogue.
A telemedicine platform enabling patients to book appointments, receive prescriptions, store medical history, and securely share documents with healthcare providers.
An international dance competition management platform where studios register dancers as solos or groups to compete in events. Manages the full competition lifecycle — from studio onboarding to live event-day judging and results.
A deliberately deep stack built around the tools that matter most for production systems — not a list padded to look impressive, but the tools I ship with every day.
I'm actively looking for my next role as a Backend or DevOps Engineer. I bring real production experience, end-to-end ownership, and a systems-first mindset. Remote-friendly, fast responder.
